Allyson Felix

Allyson Michelle Felix was born Los Angeles on November 18 1985. Paul Felix, her father was an ordained minister at Master's Seminary Sun Valley. Marlean Felix worked at Balboa Magnet school for children in the elementary grades. Felix demonstrated a talent for sports early, and discovered her ability to sprint while she was at the Los Angeles Baptist High School. She finished second in the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championships within just 10 weeks, after the first time she tried out. Felix finished her high school year in 2003 and became a part of Adidas a contract as an athlete in professional competition. In the following year, she attended University of Southern California studying elementary education. Felix's first Olympic medal was won at the 2004 Summer Olympics which took place in Athens Greece. Felix set a world junior record for running 200m in 22.18 seconds. Felix was also the youngest to win the 200-meter race in the world championships that took place in Helsinki in the year 2005. She was able to defend her record time and time again in 2007 beating her long-time Jamaican competitor Veronica Campbell. Felix took part in the Olympics during Beijing London Rio de Janeiro and Tokyo regularly placing in the top three in all her competitions.
